Today I started my day off with a walk and then a visit to the photo museum of Verona. It was raining outside. My photo class walked around and viewed large format photography of local areas done by an artist. I enjoyed the artists work. The museum is underground and in the ruins that were found under the city. There are still tiles, a septic system and structures that are in tact. It is very neat and adds to the art of the area.
After visiting the museum Erin and I went to lunch near Piasso Irve. We had a pizza that had artichokes, olives and sausage on it. We enjoyed it. The rest of the day was spent lounging around until around 8:00pm. Our Italian friends, Andrea and Geovanie took us miniature golfing. It was a fun time. After we went golfing I was hungry and wanted to eat. Mateo, our other friend joined us and they took us to a fast food place- or as close as you can get to fast food in Verona. We had never tried the food before so they ordered us each one of everything. First I ate what looked like a calzone. It was full of cheese and sauce. After that we had balls that were breaded and fried. Each one consisted of something different. One was a large meatball. Another was a ball full of mashed potatoes, still another full of rice and “orange” as said on the sign. I did not like this one but the Italian boys said it was there favorite. There was another full of fresh mozzarella cheese. Also there was long flat strips of chicken (chicken cutlet). I liked the meatball one the best. I also really liked the chicken cutlet. This dinning experience was unique. I was really full afterwards. I compared the meal to an entire thanksgiving dinner that was breaded and fried into large balls. The boys also brought us several bottles of Italian wine for us to take home as souvenirs. It was very nice of them!
